If he's got a grade 1 muscle strain it's probably better that he rest it and let it heal.

Play him and you risk the tear becoming a grade 2 or 3 injury. Grade 2 would put him out for a few months potentially. A grade 3 would be the sort of injury Barkley had. Bad news.

Given his injury record, I think the club are doing the right thing. Frustrating as it is.

I know it's difficult when it comes to mental health in football and in life, but I do wonder if the mental health issues he alluded to last year also include perhaps 'feeling' injuries more often than he used to aswell. I think we have seen (aside from last week) he was a bit more careful in how he put his body about. It's a real shame as he could be a fantastic player.

If anyone seriously thinks he would purposefully not want to play because he's soft then I find that unbelievable. I truly believe he wants to go and play every game but the medical staff know that he is one tweak away from a long term injury and clearly he has some issues. If he was reading some of the comments on here I can imagine he would be disappointed to say the least.

We should be supporting him, not slating him for something that probably already upsets him more than anyone.

I have a feeling that maybe he will be OK for Liverpool but dyche is bluffing, but I guess we will see

An opinion based on no knowledge of his physical condition.

People are laying into the lad because they've decided he's 'soft' - despite having no actual evidence for that. They've just decided it in their own heads and are spitting their disgust at him.
Im not laying into him at all. Just voicing my own opinion on a private forum . Some players crack on and others only play when they feel they are 100%. Ex pros have spoken for years about players that were like that . Just the way the lad is in opinion. Believe what you like . Your opinion

Maybe a lot to do with his mentality. Evert rugby player plays with some sort of injuries and get on with it. Different mindset wit Dom unfortunately. Been known for years that certain players only play when they feel 100%. Hard for people to hear but its true
