Im not laying into him at all. Just voicing my own opinion on a private forum . Some players crack on and others only play when they feel they are 100%. Ex pros have spoken for years about players that were like that . Just the way the lad is in opinion. Believe what you like . Your opinion
Sorry, I came across as overly hard on you there which I didn’t mean to.

I’ve read some really nasty stuff in this thread from people who seem to think he’s just scared of playing or something. I bounced off your comment to refer to those harsher opinions and shouldn’t have burnt you in the process.

Apologies.

I do wonder why football players seem to go off with the slightest of knocks whilst other sports have players playing with broken ankles or torn pecs.

This isn't a shot at Dom but it does really perplex me.
What other sports?
It could also be the club are trying to protect their multi million pound asset. He may have been under instruction to flag the bench if he felt any strain, and based on what Dyche said, he probably was.

What other sports are those, mate? I don't know of any that would play with these.

Dom's current problem is a specific one that's very hard to overcome - the hamstring. It's a muscle that the only recipe to get it back to 100% is rest. It's a terrible injury. Guys can play through knocks, like a bruise to the quad or shoulder pain. But for something like a groin or hammy, it's a tough injury to play through when you're not 100%.

Maybe a lot to do with his mentality. Evert rugby player plays with some sort of injuries and get on with it. Different mindset wit Dom unfortunately. Been known for years that certain players only play when they feel 100%. Hard for people to hear but its true
According to Dyche, he was itching to play. Any speculation after that, is exactly that, speculation.

I don't blame Dom for being injury prone it's been known for two years really. I blame the club for not bringing any kind of like for like option to replace him when he's out over multiple windows and selling Richy who was able to be that focal point through work rate and threat. It didn't even need to be someone of his level as that's unlikely but someone who can play the target man role and weigh in with goals. Simms isn't that type even with his size but he should definitely be groomed with minutes off the bench as a option.
