You mean the season when we had Digne, James and Sigurdsson all putting things on a plate for him?

It's mad that strikers are better when they have quality around them...
He played with Digne and Sigurdsson for years.

If you want to pretend that he's always been as cool in front of goal as he was with no fans in the stadium, that's up to you. His strike rate doesn't lie.

Makes such a difference having him as a target up front, massive. He looked fit, was putting himself about and led the line well. Faded second half and that miss was terrible but overall promising and need him to have some big games in the last four.

I thought he did ok last night, great penalty overshadowed by a shocked of a miss.

he shouldn't have played the whole game though. Simms and Gray could have taken some burden off him last night.
The space he creates by being a nuisance to defenders is crucial
No way we get that many chances with maupay or simms playing in his spot

I get that, just dont think we should be over playing him at this point. Could have been taken off in the 8th min for Simms

One of the worst misses of the season.
Did you see it deflect on to his heel of their defender in which was a simple tap in - should have controlled the defection & then hit it, but not much room or time TBH - ? He did well to connect - they were so lucky last night with deflections, their first goal was one ....... TBH - DCL terrorised their back two all night ....

Not to jinx it but, one praise for Dyche I will have is that he has managed his rehabilitation properly for once. Previous regimes are to blame for his injury troubles, not the player himself.

Hes looked sharp since he's come back and is doing everything I expect Dom to do. He's a 60m forward when he's like this. Hopefully it lasts.

He has played 2 games…
