By the time we play Bournemouth it might not even be in our own hands, we have no idea if three points is enough. If he can play even 60 minutes against Wolves you have to take the risk, and if the groin pops so be it - we could leave him out and it could pop in training or five minutes into the Bournemouth game anyway.

All true. But i think dyche left him out of games previously because he wanted him fit for others. Obviously dont know the full extent of his injury but i think this could come into play. Find out sat.

You can pull your groin or any muscle really from one sprint.
You don't need to constantly charging around the place to get an injury like that

To be honest, your probably less likely to pull it if your constantly charging around. Its the low intensity movements followed by high intensity that cause majority of muscle injuries. If your going from 0-max in a really short period of time, over and over again, the risk increases.

For what its worth, I think he plays against Wolves. I also think that there was little point in him playing on against City.

This discussion is all academic as Maupay will be spearheading our attack regardless of DCL’s availability.

If it came to it what is the prefered option.
play him at wolves and risk his groin going. Rest it for another full week and have him leading the line against bournemouth. I think dyche has already shown he's planned around calvert lewins fitness. I wouldnt be surprised if he had to make that call he'd go for bournemouth.
Play him both, he's got plenty of rest time coming up..

I think he'll be fine anyway, he brought off other players for the same reason...

What a terrible idea. We can’t be throwing games with 2 to go.

of course play in both if his groin can handle it. The question was just a scenario if dyche had to prioritise. I think dyche didnt rush calvert lewin back for the fear his groin would go again. he could have a similar decision. Depending on how it is.

I think Dyche only left him out until he was 100% fit and it showed

We saw 80% Dom loads in the last two seasons and whilst he was better than Maupay obviously, these last few games he’s been outstanding, as good as he ever was and it’s because he’s been at full fitness

Now with only two games left to go, if he’s 80% I’m sure he’ll play given the situation but I think Dyche was right to not rush him back where he could’ve for example wasted his recovery work by starting and then going off 15 mins into the Fulham game and never being seen again because at the time it felt like a must win

DCL Will be starting Sat, don't doubt it for a sec. Think Dyche just decided to make the changes he did as the result was already heading one way, so Wolves suddenly become the game on his mind. Sensible decision in the end and hope it pays off....
I agree, DCL wanted to continue on Sunday and Dyche made the call. Unless its flaired up the next day or during training he will play on Saturday for sure.
These contact niggles though will definitely be focusing Seans mind in perhaps cashing him in if we can keep him fit to season end
