its hard to see someone playing if they have been brought off the past two weeks, especially with a hamstring problem

you can numb a sore joint with a painkiller but if your hamstring is done you simply can’t play football
 


I think that's unfair.

He's injured.

I think he's finished - he certainly isn't somebody to be relied on - but a coward? That's uncharitable conjecture.
Probably a bit harsh from me, but he has tweaked his hamstring not torn it, your telling me for the last game of the season he cant have a pain killer injection and be on the bench available for the last 10-15 minutes if we need a goal to retain our PL status.
 
Called that a couple of weeks ago if we weren't safe for this game.

That doesn't make sense, one of the highlights of his career is his goal against Palace last season that secured our survival. No way he'd bottle it when offered the opportunity to repeat that at Goodison against Bournemouth.
 
Some really unfair comments on this considering nobody here knows the lad.

I very much doubt he's a coward and wants to be injured.

He came back looking sharp and fit. Not his fault his hamstrings are failing him.
