As soon as DCL was declared fit he was played in every game until he got injured again and even in his first games back he was left on the pitch longer than was planned.

If after a couple of games he could have been rested for a week and then reintroduced then over time he would gradually build up his ability to play more football. We just could not afford to do that unfortunately.

Only time will tell when DCL reaches his peak but what is completely beyond dispute is that we were a totally different team when he was playing. His absence hurt us enormously through the season.
I agree could of been eased back in and built up game time if dyche went beyond the medical staffs advised minutes he’s a clown. We did miss him but we can’t count on him being fit that’s been proven so he needs to be second choice now or gone we need a first choice striker who can score more than 1 or 2 goals a season asking for 9-10 isn’t really asking a lot

Love to see him doing everything he can to get over his injury issues. Top player whenever he manages to get on the pitch.

But if anyone involved in recruitment, be it Kev, Dyche, or Purdy says the words "but we'll have a fit DCL next season" they need sacking on the spot. Two new strikers are required, because the totally ineffective Maupay needs punting too and we know we can't stake our PL future on Dom getting fit and playing.

Like people saying he could be on holiday instead?
Why should he? He’s got a contract to fulfil and may of been told to go there, try to sort it out as he’s contributed very little this season.
I hope Dyche has insisted he go and won’t give him more ‘time off’ until he’s been properly assessed.

Needs a kick up the ass if you ask me, too much of this nannying and woooo mental health b:ll:x.

Itls far more simple than that. He needs to be sold or have his contract paid up and dismissed.

We cannot start another season with him in our plans.

We got away with it for two seasons by the skin of our teeth. We wont get away with it a third time running.

Don't write Dom off too soon

This is the major injury record of the Prems top goalscorer.
Plenty of others have come back to post really good records after injuries like Callum Wilson is now doing.

The problem always has been this club have relied on him rather than adding other goalscorers to the squad.

Be absolutely foolish to bin him only for him to get over his injuries and banging them in for some one else.

When DCL has been available, we're a better side. Hopefully he'll sort himself out this summer and will have a good season. I can't see many clubs wanting to buy him until he's proved his fitness. Remember we only paid £1.5million for him. Not the big massive loss we usually get on players.

Forget what we paid for him, it’s what we are now paying him for no return it’s basically dead money I’d imagine he’s on a decent wage now.

I could be completely wrong, but under Ancellotti, day to day trying was very much light (ball work) in comparison to Dyche and under Lampard and Benetiz he was almost forced back before he could recover.

Im not convinced DCL can cope with the physical day to day responsibilities of being a top pro, with the demands this squad is expected to produce daily . Unless he gets specialised training I think he'd be better at a club where he's under less stress physically and can just turn up and play on a match day. He will have a better career that way. Where that is I don't know.

Different types of injury these. Dom gets muscle injuries (probably because he’s bulked up a skinny frame to play a very physically demanding position) similar to Carroll or D Ferguson. Like those, he’ll never put a significant run of games together.

None of us are party to any medical information about DCL and even if we were, we wouldn't understand it. He'd cost £30 million to replace - minimum. We haven't got £30 million. So, I say, let's forget about him for now. Hope the club can get him back to 100% fitness in the not too distant. For once "he's like a new signing" would be apt, if we can get him back to the level of just a few years ago. Meanwhile, what money we have got we need to get as good a striker as we can get, whether bought or on loan. Otherwise, we'll be in a relegation scrap again next season
