Agreed. That wasn’t just “back on the grass with us” as Dyche likes to say. Must be feeling robust if allowed to take part in a small team/small pitch hyped up fully competitive mini-tournament. Looked like they were all focussed so plenty of opportunity for a knock.

Keane looks to have had a kick up the bum too. Not just because he was slotting like a demon. After he scored a cracker he immediately looked back for the ball as the scoring teams keeper starts a new attack. Bad in the sense that he will probably end up starting games if training well, but he’s noticeably on it. As they all were. Interesting. Good video that.

it could be the case that insiders at the club have unfortunately decided he is unlikely to stay fit and meet the demands of the premier league

instead of letting his contract run and his wages and potential fee affect our finances. it may be that the club would consider a loan offer from a club in a les physically demanding league.

there would be a fee, it would be nominal but these days can be up to £10 mil depending on value of player. I’m sure Mbappe was originally loaned for a much higher fee though that is of course an outlier. But loan fees definitely have increased in relation to the inflated transfer fees and value of players in the last decade.

i hope it’s not true but the club, and DCL, could see this as the best option. freed up wages and position (a top striker is more likely to join knowing they would have a starting role, than playing second fiddle when DCL fit, or facing more competition for a place)

It could also be the only way for us to recoup some money through both the loan fee and saved wages, and through a potential transfer if the loan is successful that they wouldn’t take a chance on without testing him for a year
