More than anything I reckon Southgate is going to want to see him looking fit and involved in games (like the other day) He knows that Dom will score goals if he is given the service in the right areas.
 
I hope Dominic makes the England world cup squad, because, if he does, he will have to have banged a load of goals in for us over the next few games. Seriously though, the 4 week down time and our games in the States during the world cup period look to be an ideal opportunity for Dominic to work on his match sharpness.

I thought Dom was properly switched on yesterday, he created his goal out of nothing.

If he gets picked it means he's doing well for us, which is great.

My point was we pay his wages and we should be his priority, especially after contributing so little for the last 12 months. Would hate to see him returned injured when he could have had a few weeks off.
 

I don't think he'll go to the World Cup

Southgate already didn't seem to rate him and he's barely played this season, which would have been his only chance

Southgate has stuck with Pickford for the most part, so being an Everton player isn't the automatic knock against you that it's been with so many other England managers, but I don't think D C L is in the plans

It's disappointing for him, but he's young and will have further chances if he can stay fit. Having some time off will probably help him on the fitness front

Dont reckon Southgate was at our game watching DCL but more the 2 CBs
 
Surely no chance he goes the world cup tbf,.Wilson and Toney deserve it more based on form.

DCL is different to all the other strikers likely to be called up though, if your chasing a goal could put DCL on to win the headers etc, so never know.

Rather he just concentrates on getting fully fit than sitting on the bench for England though
