If we got £60-70mil for DCL and Beto combined whether Beto in Jan or both end of the season I think the risk level would be low -- as you say i would be wary of selling DCL in Jan.

However, neither are goalscorers at the elite level and with Chermiti as 2nd choice we could have our pick of a wide range of players.

Those figures are mad, Zat.

Seeing as we haven’t paid a penny for Beto yet, I’m not sure he’s entirely ours to sell?

We are not selling Beto in January. We won't be raising 70m in a January window from selling our forwards.

We also don't appear to have any money. How would we have our pick of a wide range of players?

I think you should be our accountant, with the amount of players you acted as though we could have sold over the months and the fees you acted like we could get. we probably wouldnt have a team, but we would have a lot of money lol

Who would want him with his injury record ?

Theres been a few links...also players like DCL would be valued at £40-60mil from purely media links.

Those figures are mad, Zat.

Well we signed beto for £21.5mil...the rest would be DCL. He was linked to Saudi and a few other prem sides and roma i think.

Id imagine we could get at least £38.5mil for him.

Hes contractually ours.

You cant outright stay we wont be doing something. I agree though i doubt wed sell both in Jan.

AC Milan, Napoli and a few other italian sides have been linked to a jan move and id be severely tempted to sell at breakeven.

As for having no money, who knows when a takeover happens. Also the figures are pretty conservative at £60mil for the pair minimum id say.

Couldnt have done worse than ours.

He has been linked with a return to Italy tbf, there was a thing on the Echo's twitter page a few days back about it although I agree Id be very surprised if it happened.

No ones shelling out £38m on a consistently injured striker who gets under 6 goals a season.

….your transfer strategy is like La La Land.

You were praising Thelwell for great deals bring Beto and Chermiti in and now you want to sell the former. Thing is, he’s costing us £25m this summer and no club in their right mind would pay close to that. Matching his salary is another issue and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t want a move.

Then you push Chermiti as 2nd choice when he’s not given the slightest indication that he’s any good. It’s like you have little white fluffy clouds floating in the football side of your brain. lol

Thelwell’s transfer model is a real concern to me. He needs to buy good footballers within his spend envelope, not overpriced poor footballers because he doesn’t have to pay the bill for 12 months.

The 1st two paragraphs are simply all wrong.

The third makes no sense.

Thelwell could do a lot worse than dipping his rod in to the lower leagues. Some very good defenders in the Div 1 & 2 and there are players like Wharton to be had.

….agree, although I’m not totally convinced on Wharton. The boy is talented but he saunters through games and I’d be concerned about his energy levels.
