2023/24 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I think our expectations are too high. He's never been a good PL striker.

Had one good season under Carlo when team generally did better than expected. I still think having no fans at matches was big part of us doing well that season.

He's not getting great service the way Dyche sets up, but still nowhere near the likes of Toney, Wilson, Watkins, even Solanke, Welbeck are better players.
Lot of that was James in midfield allowed DCL to stay up top and not chase the ball.

Still CBs are all over him these days was something we could count on was him ruffing up the back line, now he seems half arsed.

Think you're right. He doesn't seem that arsed.

Can't remember the last time he gave any centre half a really hard time.

Toney, Wilson, Watkins, Solanke all got bit of nasty streak to their game. He hasn't.

Career's just drifting into obscurity.

DCL is still our most important player. We have nothing offensively without him on the pitch.

Beto is an impact sub at best. A physical pace merchant with poor touch, positioning, and aerial ability.

I’m glad we have a backup that offers something off the bench given we have not had that for a couple years now, but to think we should be starting Beto in place of Calvert-Lewin is foolish.

What a load of rubbish, how on earth is he our most important player?

Without Doucoure I wouldn't mind us going 4-4-2. Dyche hasn't found a solution this season or last season.

DCL up top on his own isn;t working and he looks half the player he was before his injury(s)

He occupies both defenders presenting an offensive threat centrally that permits space for our wide players and attacking midfielders to have time and space to be creative.

We completely lack that in his absence.
He's crap, he doesn't score. He's not even close to being our most important player stop talking rubbish
