2023/24 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

That was the day the penny dropped as to why Moshiri was only allowed to buy 49.9% of the club.
I knew Koeman - and Everton - were finished that day. What really galled me was the way Kenwright sold it as a really great thing. We'd lost our best striker since Lineker and Sharp, and replaced him with a relic of the past that never was. Of course, it was classic Kenwright - allowing him to say he righted the great wrong of losing Rooney by bringing a blue home. That type of sentimental sham was his hallmark. You mentioned last night that 2023 was a car crash from start to finish. I agreed with you - but then I thought "actually there was one bright spot". That kind of stroke can no longer be pulled again.

His good says are once or twice a season though, so not really a good argument

Nonsense.

As soon as he came back last season the team won v Arsenal.

Then another two month lay off. He played well at Leicester and then I thought he was magnificent (without scoring) at Brighton. Ask Lewis Dunk and he'd probably say Calvert Lewin was the CF who gave him as hard a game as anyone last year.

This season again a frustrating start but he's back in and you get results like 3-0 v Bournemouth, 1-0 v West Ham, 3-2 at Palace, 2-0 at Burnley.

The big problem however is Doucoure is good at quickly getting up to support when he's trying to hold the ball up. With him injured he's just too isolated again with the other midfielders.

He did dink it over the keeper, just got the angle wrong

We had a real talent in attack, we allowed the idiot owner to offend his mum and a bigger idiot for a manager to pack his bags for him, instead of keeping him and build a team around him
Pfffft!

He tried to put it past the GK into the far corner...and missed by about 3 yards.

Amazing that some people on here still rate him so highly. I think they have just entrenched themselves into a position they are too embarrassed to back away from.

Don’t fall for it

With a few it’s just to rile folk up

It was the same to a lesser extent with Tom Davies

Anything remotely positive and they bait people with that “haters” routine . Take it for what it is and laugh.

Uhh..have you seen Haaland? Yeah, he probably would score that one chance.

He misses twice as many as Dom.

Hes had a few half chances and a few quite glaring misses, hes in a really poor run of form, but maybe if we created more chances he wouldnt be snatching at the 1 chance a game he gets.

He needs a goal, will do his confidence a world of good.

We aren't man City so we aren't going to create endless chances.

It's hard to create x amount of chances for a striker with arguably the worst movement I have seen from a striker in this league, he doesn't move.

If we somehow get out of this season without getting relegated it has to be the last one we hand automatic starts up front to this feller.

I cant think of too many PL teams who'd stick with a player who hands such poor returns every season as DCL does.

Any available cash from sales will need to be put toward taking a chance on another forward. Preferably sell him on and use the cash to bring a couple of replacements in to vie with Beto for starts and get shut of Chermiti.
