The club stands by him and puts in the effort to get him rehabilitated and then he repays us by looking to get off after running down his contract.

How has he run his own contract down? He was given a set contract and that has naturally run through with us not offering to extend it until the final year. If he refuses to leave and goes for free then that’s running it down.
 
No loyalty in football especially by the players, if he's angling for huge wages then I don't think we should we can afford not to sell. If he was a 15 goal a season striker then yes by all means. But he is often injured and should get a good fee. If its between him Onana or JB then DCL is the one I'd want gone.

A replacement might be a whole other problem
 


He may have p[possibly waiting for the buy out to get a better deal....
He definitely been refusing to pick up the phone and blanked thelwell in the hallways of Finch farm while he's been itching for this move to link up with arl pal Tony Gordon.

I can't see Newcastle paying him more than we would. He's far more important to us than he is to them.

He must really, really hate Everton and the support to turn down that money.
