No idea. No one knows what we have offered him. No one knows his response or counter offer. No one knows what Newcastle offered him, or even if they did offer him anything at all. No one knows if he “wants to wear skirts in London” as I’ve just read.

I’ve always thought he was a good player but poor finisher but did well for us at key moments. And have been miffed at the number of games he has missed while we keep waiting for his return rather than replacing him properly. Would be a disaster for the club if he sits on his hands and walks for nothing next year. Worse for him if he does an ACL next April, meaning we will let him train at FF during 25/26, uncontracted and unpaid, and might get a £30k per week 1 year deal at a newly promoted side for 26/27 after wasting 2 years. But struggling to see what he has done wrong based on complete guesswork and fantasy.

The North West - and even moreso London - is setup for wealthy people wanting to spend money.

The North East not so much.

As weve already established he doesnt have to live in the city. Very few players live in liverpool for example.

Your whole argument seems to hinge on him having to be kept in a Newcastle gulag

Be disappointed to see him leave for free next season. Surely something can be worked out. Replacing him is far from impossible but it's also a risk it doesn't work out. I'd rather he stays and we work on getting another forward option in.
