Would love Bournemouth to come in hard for him now they have the Solanke money and position to fill.
Would be great if they made us an offer we accept and we say to him ‘decision time, stay or go. If you stay without extending you don’t play’.
And before anyone says you’ve got to play your best striker.. We will survive without 1 season of his contributions!! And I think Beto scores more given the chance anyway.
Ultimately I think it’s high time he was squeezed into a corner to make a decision.
Would hopefully be the wake up call he needs.. drop down in club stature for your financial gains or stay at a huge club as main striker.
Enough messing about, this will be a negative drag all season if he stays without signing, not what anyone needs especially in such an historic final season.

He isn’t going there, he’s got aspirations of greater things, not just a greater bank balance.

I'd imagine Bournemouth have a wage structure in place and can't see them paying anything like the wages he is looking for mate

Another wake up call for him! I do think the lads being given some very poor advice from his agents. The Newcastle offer was a great deal for all concerned, can’t see a scenario in which he does better.

*Caveat - never expected Solanke to go to Spurs for £60mil!😆

A real catch 22 for us this if we sell him it will be cut price last week of the window, and we will be scrambling for a replacement, we don't get a bid for him he runs his contract down and you would question his motivation. Issue is if he goes we struggle to replace what he brings overall too.

What's the price we would keep him at and let him run down his contract if we were offered it?

By that i mean, what's the number where he is worth more to us on the pitch this season and keeping him for a year and letting him go on a free next summer - then it is to sell him this summer if a club offered money - maybe 10 mill?

Now if the Friedkin deal was still happening I’d be very comfortable with him running the contract down. We could shake his hand at the end of the season and hopefully buy a new (better) striker with their funds to take us into Bramley Moore - in fact that would be the ideal time for a fresh start all around. Trouble is we don’t have an incoming sugar daddy anymore so.. unless he signs.. best start planning for life without him is my view, starting this season.

Great question, but you also need to factor in our own teams development. Would it be worth more to play Beto and develop/improve him? Grates on me that we are giving DCL a shop window whilst potentially disrupting squad harmony.
Tough call, which is why I really think it’s time we had a clear answer one way or the other.👍 maybe, internally the club see Chermiti as the answer? But again, he’d need to have lots of minutes to develop.

It would actually take a really big offer for me to want to part now, 6 weeks ago easy sell, but we’ve just done a full pre-season preparing for him to be our starting number 9 and you don’t want to rip it up and start again with god knows who as a replacement, or Beto who they clearly don’t really fancy. For me the price should be going up as the season approaches not down.

If he runs it down so be it, as I’ve said before him agreeing a contract comes with big risks for us too with his record. But 10-15 or whatever probably doesn’t justify the disruption at this stage when we know the cost of relegation. Don’t think I’d take under 25 at the moment.

Its a good point mate and one I've been thinking about.

The new stadium is going to take us to WHU levels of revenue in and around 240 -250 mill a year mark.

Depending on what the market is offering for Dom this summer - we may be in a better in a better position to fund a new striker next summer.

It could be a cost/benefit exercise if a team offers us 10 mill for him, is he worth more to us then that this season.

The caveat to that of course - is likely we will have an ongoing debt servicing cost for the new ground as well - but that will be restructured at some stage once built.

Its a very good point mate, last year a case a point, think people forget we started last season without a forward really and Beto only came in for our third or fourth game and the PL was an adjustment for him, no preseason etc. There is a disruption factor.

Really is a mess.

I actually think the club think he's going to sign.

The number for me would be anything that could cover the cost of loaning Richy from spurs with us having 5-10m in the pocket after.

Instantly lose that adaptation period and no question he'd settle fast
