Can we all now stop blaming Calvert Lewin for being 'greedy'?

He's being priced out of a move (which is the clubs prerogative if they feel a season of DCL is worth £25m)
Its also his prerogative to not sign a contract if clubs playing in Europe or further down the line than us (Chelsea, Newcastle, Man Utd) are all showing interest.

His agent was in his ear telling him that he was gonna have top clubs fighting over him and throwing £160k a week at him, and the window is about to shut and he’s still at Everton

Fire your anger at them.

No one is doing anything wrong. The player is allowed to want to leave but he's under contract so the club don't have to sell.

I just don't think it's a sensible decision given our finances. I think it's a mistake and keeping an unhappy player rarely works out.

The valuation of 25m is completely unrealistic at this point. The club have handled this very poorly all summer.

A free transfer is a bad outcome for the club

Chelsea priced him.ss the same as a guy whose had two poor loans in a row and they are desperate to get rid of.

Also note there's zero mention of any money changing hands is there, it's a swap deal basically.

Fofana has scored three goals in this league and was crap and dropped in Germany after one goal and being suspended by their manager for an argument, so bad Chelsea recalled him in January and loaned him to Burnley where Kompany eventually dropped him.leasing to another argument with the manager...

The thing is the value he has over a season. Yes we could sell him for £12 million today. But then be even more seriously short upfront. If it was January and we were more or less safe it would be considered. PSR doesn't need to be worried about right now. Any punishment would be next season. Plus we'd have to spend the £12 million to try and replace him. You don't get much for that amount. Especially on deadline day.
