I think it must be about money because he is not good enough to start for almost all the PL teams. He may have set up a move to Saudi, or agreed to be
a second -stringer somewhere for lots of dosh but no transfer fee.
 
There’s an exercise you can do here to figure out where a player stands in relation to the rest of our squad. It requires some honesty and the removal of any bias at all.

Who amongst our current squad could you foresee going on to a better situation than fighting relegation.

DCL is in that bracket, probably with Pickford, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Ndiaye and hopefully Tim.

Look at the rest and tell me who else?

That’s why we are where we are and also why Calvert-Lewin is the least of our current worries.
 

He played well yesterday and but should have scored at least two, if he ever goes through one on one, I’d bet the eyes of my children that he doesn’t score.
That game encompasses everything about him and probably the reason he is still here.

We're bottom of the league and have given up 13 goals, on the backs of two years worth of PSR penalties. It's not tough to imagine why he doesn't want to stay. I think you're confusing the history of the club and fan support with how the club is actually being run.

No I just think he's a bit crap.
 
If your striker scores a goal, he did his job imo. We need him to do better with those one on one’s, but you have to take a look at the back line and Dyche’s strategy after going two nil up. We didn’t cover the wings all game long and allowed Villa to grow in confidence. Keane wimped out on a header against a much lesser aerial threat than himself conceding yet another goal, proving once again he should not have started. We didn’t reinforce the midfield in time when our central players were having it rough. We waited til the score was 2-2 to bring on an extra center half. Piss poor from the manager. We know what our weaknesses are and didn’t compensate for them whatsoever.
