We saw his level yesterday. Good for the odd goal when fit, but not a dependable natural striker when the gilt-edged chance arrives. In our current moribund state, he's perfect for us.

really tiresome reading posts on Twitter and forums from fans saying if only DCL makes it 3-1. Firstly as you point out it would have gone to VAR and have been correctly called offside. Secondly all those shouts detract from the fact that the losses are all on the clown in charge. Continues to play his 39 year old favourites, continues to play Keane when he is mentally shot and above all else, continues to play drab football which is the only style he knows how to play. “You have the ball, come on to us, we won’t close you down when you’re on the ball and I’ll make life even easier for you by playing players who the stats tell us will always concede at least 2 goals a game when selected”.

While not a huge fan of DCL, i find it hard to blame him for the loss. While he may not have taken some gilt edge chances, we were 2-0 up and managed to concede 3 goals again... Can't blame the striker for the lack of game management of the whole team.

they was all over us, but as others and i said, that 3rd goals knocks them right down and they have a mountain to climb again

it is everton like, so wouldnt suprise me either way, but the timing off that miss to them scoring the equaliser was minutes between wasnt it??

i still blame dyche though, he absolutely [Poor language removed] his undies again, just give them the ball, DCL had their 2 cbs all over the gaff in that first half, they couldnt deal with him, and he decided to just give them the ball sit back and try and hang on, he's a disgrace

I really struggle with the hate and criticism dcl gets a player who arguably scored one of the most important goal against palace in our history and has scored twice against our neighbours in winning games that alone would give other past players cult status.
Yes I get he's not clinical but to be fair if he was he would have left by now ,he is ploughing it alone against two centre backs and villa's two are highly rated players .
He gets absolutely no service from the wings unless it's a set piece maybe broja when fit will be a better fit but at this moment he is more valuable to us than 20 or 25 million we might have got late on in the window
