2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It's not so much that I don't think coaching can help, it's that he's 27 and he's unlikely to improve much technically at this stage with or without coaching. I feel like the mental aspect has a much better chance of paying off.
I think try everything.

I know I would in Dyche’s position.

He’s our number 9 and he’s struggling to put the ball in the back of the net. Pull every lever.

I don't think I've ever seen him try to dink the goalie, I don't think he has the composure to think about it.
He did so at bournemouth but it is pretty rare.

Not an instinctive finisher, feels like he goes for the textbook sidefoot shot regardless of what the keeper is doing.

As a goalscorer, he hasn't been good enough. As a playmaker, he hasn't created enough. He has games where he really holds the ball up well, but when it comes to the things that matter most, he can't do it. He is a good player. You won't progress if your striker doesn't score or assist chances. He needs to find some consistency particularly with the ball at his feet and his composure.

Just a pity that he’s been with us so long, he’s 27 and the club still haven’t realised it offering him massive wages. Yes people will say it’s to protect the asset, but I suspect the club would genuinely like to keep him.
