2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Somebody said on another thread that Dyche enjoys the underdog tag and the fight for survival. It struck a chord. We are not relegation fodder now so i'd hope his purpose for being here in the first place no longer exists.

You're more confident than i am mate about that.
The only two teams we've beat have a total of 0 wins.
That Southampton game feels just as huge for us as them.

It's increasingly looking like we're going to be the only option he has if he wants top flight footy.

When the likes of Brentford and Forest have better strikers than you it's going to be slim pickings, free or not.

Maybe Carlo is having second thoughts after getting hammered in the Classico....

I wish we’d stop playing it to his head and he’d stop flicking it on to nobody. We do it about ten times every game and it hasn’t led to a goal ever.
People say Dom is imperative for hoofball, but I'd argue we aren't actually effective when we are hoofing it to the striker. Long balls out wide are fine. A lot of our scoring plays tend to start because we get bodies down field and start making runs. Dom is not Fellaini. Never has been. He is decent at his role, but putting him in no-man's land with nobody to head to is not effective. It's just a reset.
