2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Why did he play so well under Carlo? He needs to look at what he did so well in that period and do the same. Not asking him to do a number 10 role and the striker at the same time might help. I’m not saying he will become the best striker in the world but he may score more goals.

This is a myth. He scored 12 plus goals across 4-5 games then went 3 months without scoring

saw this, literally no idea if it's true.

This "played so well under Carlo" myth needs to die.
He scored 16 goals that season with no fans.
10 of those 16 goals were scored in a 3 month period.
After that, he dropped back to his normal levels of scoring.
1 in December
0 in January
2 in February
1 in March
0 in April
2 in May

He had a purple patch for a brief period of time and then went back to scoring 1 in 3 or 4 matches.

It was one season as well. He's so poor that those December to May stats look aspirational now.

One of the strangest players in the league.

He's a 8/10 striker for the kind of all around play you want from a modern lone striker. Wins headers, good hold up play.

Horrific finisher. 2/10 in that department. Not even sure he's Championship standard in this regard

That'd make him something like Teddy Sheringham-level on the ball.

I don't think he'd get much criticism at all if this was really the case.

Yeah, perhaps a little hyperbole to be sure. But he wouldn't look out of place on a really good European-challenging side in this regard.
I do still think he's an OK player, albeit very limited.

I could see him doing well in a systematised team, e.g. Brentford. I suspect he'd consider that to be beneath him, though.
