2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Our starting striker (if you can call him that) has 34 days until he can sign with a foreign team and leave on a free in the summer.

Just outstanding management.

I'm more concerned by the fact we have relied on him to start for us the past four years and he's barely managed 15 goals in that time.

If he is holding out for mega bucks then you can't blame the club. We tried to move him on but Dom only cares about his next wage packet, not helping us out.

He used to be a favourite, along with richy and some others, even in the horrible years under Benitez and Lampard. Now very few players actually can poke their heads up above the meaninglessness of the club and bring a bit of joy. A shame more than anything. Used to be fun.

In our team most no 9s would struggle , but he is losing interest with Dyches tactics - needs a rest .....

Seeing as the general consensus is that he crap, if the club did give him a 2 year extension or whatever would the narrative not change to why the club have rewarded a crap player with a bigger contract and made it harder to get rid of?

I don’t think anyone thinks he’s actually crap, but hes also not very good. His game used to be heading and aggressive but it seems he’s more concerned about now not getting injured before he leaves the club.

I don’t think anyone would begrudge him a new deal with us but also let’s have it right. We are desperate for better strikers.

I'd begrudge him a new deal on match attitude alone.

If we had any semblance if a squad he'd be gone and forgotten already.

I think it would reflect terrible on those at the club now if he was given a new and improved contract. I'd say that boat should have well and truly sailed.

I think we should be trying to get 2-3m in Jan and wages off the books and if he signs a pre contract agreement which stops us from doing that, then basically put him in the reserves as he won't be going in full pelt for anything at all.

Yeah let’s not lie here, he’s never been that popular to most

Frocks are expensive

Not saying he's at the top of his game, but I'm also not sure what else he is supposed to do as per Saturday.

The flick was excellent, the shot on goal was good when he outpaced the cb with a good run, other than that he retained possession, worked hard and made good if not very lonely runs.

At the very least he operated under mitigating circumstances
Things will start to get interesting now that he's due a few goals, all these naysayers will never learn.
