2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

No. Didn't need to. A couple of still frames.
DCL controls the ball with his back partly to goal. Brighton defender is already lunging studs-high, top-of-thigh level, nowhere near the ball.

Ball still nowhere near the Brighton defender. Studs high, back of thigh. Dangerous play. Penalty all day long...

We get the penalty and score, changes the flow of the rest of the game 100%.

Or....Never a pen. Moves his body to bring on contact, slips, minimal contact from the defenders foot on his. Falls over unnaturally.

If it's in our box, you're pulling up all these to prove it wasn't a pen.

The on field referee was going to give the pen instantly - then Dunk with a late lunge whined for him to go to VAR - In the West Ham game a far more dubious pen was given SKY quoted the new rule - as the new rule this year is that only if offside is involved VAR cannot overrule the on field decision - why alter VAR & then our referee does the opposite ? - no offside or other than that incident happened - that is the new rule broken already the WEST HAM pen was not a pen .... but the referee gave it instantly so it was taken ?

Don't care what the officials decision making was...I was asking do you think Dom was looking for the contact instead of wanting to get a shot away?

Then who plays upfront Beto or Maupay - not the greatest of cover is it?

DCL hasn't exactly lit pre-season or the first game on fire. If he had it would be a different story. I think it's quite clear that it's having an impact on the club. There is a weird atmosphere around him and the fans.
