2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I’ve always been on the fence about Dom. To me it’s not that he’s better suited for Italy then the PL. It’s our particular system. If each player started where they naturally play, then I think Dom succeeds. Play 3-4 up front and he’s maybe scoring 10-15 a year. McNeil on left, Illy to the right of Dwight. On the right side maybe Jesper. And Dom on his left. It’s chaotic, pressing, and disruptive. Dom is not Salah. But he doesn’t suck. He’s just suffocating being on an island and his spirit shows it.

Sounds like you're saying nothing is ever his fault Spadge.
I am saying that he is playing an impossible role in a team that is very poor, with a manager who has no clue or care about us being attacking minded.

His head must be wrecked and he probably needs a new start as the haters will have most likely made it impossible for a new manager or the owners to convince him to stay. Hopefully his new club will appreciate the good work that he does and not be primed to scream at any perceived shortcomings.

It is a thankless task put upon him by a clueless manager.

So nothing is his fault. Got it.

He could answer his haters by scoring a few goals.

Mad how the bids aren't flying in from other teams who can clearly see there is a world class player being kept down by Sean Dyche they could sign for a cut price.

I'm sure his new club will lay palms at his feet when he rocks up and scores 2 goals over half a season.

No everything is clearly his fault.

In fact if he hadn't played at all in the last few years we would never have been in relegation scraps as that was all his fault.

This is so true. Couple 1v1s he lost or gave up on. Maybe lack of confidence. It isn’t all the system. He has to finish when those few chances pop up. Some of those were gimmes.

iT IS CLEAR TO ANYONEWITH A BRAIN THAT HIS JOB WAS TO HOLD THE BALL UP, win headers and flick ons and be a nuisance - he did this well, as well as anyone for a while. It has gone stale, he/the awful system has been found out - he needs to move and play for a proper side

No idea why you're typing in capitals.

Lets put it this way. Calvert lewin playing for Sean Dyche at another club right now.
Would you buy him for Everton? No you wouldnt lol.
2 Goals by january is sh!t. Even for a Sean Dyche side.
Just like last season. Poor.

He's responsible for the chances he misses and the goals he doesn't score. Or at least he is in the eyes of some of us...

It's the desperate lengths his super fans go to in order to defend a pathetic goal return that keeps me in this thread to balance out the love-in as a "hater".

Any striker that has 2 goals to their name halfway through the season isn't worth their wages. At no other point in our history would that be controversial but there's edge lords thriving off of trying to convince everyone Dom is Thierry Henry waiting to be unleashed except Dyche has the shackles on him.

Behave yourselves. The lad has 2 goals, Leighton Baines would have had more at this point of the season from Free Kicks ffs. It's a Michael Keane return.

Blame the managers for not playing Thierry Henry ahead of Dom.

Chris Wood has scored more this season in 19 games than DCL has in the last season and this combined!

Note: Chris Wood plays for Notts Forest!

DCL 9th season here and he scored more than half of his 56 PL goals tally in 2 seasons! He has scored about 24 goals in the other 7 seasons

He has missed numerous chances this season to score, some of them fairly easy for an average premier league striker. He hasn’t missed a bucket load, but enough to suggest he’s nowhere near to being a top striker.
No he hasnt.

Why are you making stuff up?

His xG for the season is 4.7 and hes scored 2 goals, which means he has missed 2 decent chances, spread over 18 games, which is barely a chance every 8 games.
