I don’t know how he’s still not worked out when to jump to win a header from a goal kick. Never seen a striker who can be so good in the air mistime goalkicks so comically so often.

Biggest issue is that he simply cannot strike or control a ball properly. He's just not a natural footballer and that's why he's been found out.

If anyone in the league wants him at all. Imagine another 10 or 15 games without a goal, would anyone even want him for free?

It's really piss poor because a lot of the offsides are when his back is to goal and it's a long punt. It shows a complete lack of focus and someone who is just stationary.

Yet i have seen Beto score as many as DCL in probably a 10th of the minutes. Cant remember him ever having a run in the team, and seen enough of him to know his finishing is miles better than DCL

Stand by my comment. We are prepared to entertain a cart horse who is leaving on a free, rather than play a contract player we are devaluing.
Beto might not be great, but he should play ahead of DCL all the time.

I agree he should be given a run for sure, but I think we've overvalued him to begin with. Hope he hits the ground running (but not like Broja) and bags a few as I'm 100% sure we'll try to create more for a CF who will mostly need to finish. Ideally we want both of them in some kind of scoring form, but beggars/choosers.

I mean he also can't dribble the ball and fails to control passes but we can keep pretending he doesn't if you want.

Never said he doesn't, they're both crap at it, just varying degrees of crap - DCL sticks it more often than Beto and manages to dribble at least occasionally; Beto's initial stride for a dribble is a short pass attempt to himself. Maybe he needs a run of games too though, who knows?

I'd still have Beto ahead currently cuz sometimes those things he does work out - he's physical enough to push himself into it as well, which DCL isn't, which is how he scored against Newcastle I believe last year, from memory. He's also not in the absolutely rotten run of form and (seemingly) confidence that DCL is in.

So DCL will defo start next game ffs

No club in the top 10 would want him as a starter. Imagine that Villa team with all their technical players trying to play off him when he takes 4 touches to get the ball under control and send it back where it's came from.

Would a lower midtable like Brentford take a gamble on him? Maybe but not for the wages he'd be demanding and not in the form he's been in for 3 seasons now.

He'll probably end up in Serie A or French league on less wages than we probably offered him at the start of the season
