2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

As much as it upsets some of you, Dom would have started as our main man today if he wasn't injured. Moyes, like every manager he's played under, sees that he is our best forward.
He probably would have been first choice if fit, and he'd have probably missed every chance like he usually does. Will do Beto the world of good if he can get a run of games for the first time.

We signed this lad for £1.5 million a striker, where would you get a striker for that sort of money, the service he has given to this club, the important goals he has scored Palace, Liverpool to name a few.

in the short time he played for Everton under Moyes he looked a different player, a player who always gives his all and is so proud to represent the number 9 shirt at this club, as he has said many times.

Let's give this lad a break and enjoy the win today.

Tbf, our season started with Moyes arrival. If Dom had been fit today he'd probably have bagged a hat-trick. Chuffed for Beto though.
Yes I'm absolutely sure our 27 year old striker, in his 9th season of top flight football, with 17 goals to his name in the last 3.5 years would have totally bagged his second(??) ever career hat-trick...

...just like I'm sure if I'd have got 3 more numbers on the EuroMillions I'd be beating off a yacht full of bikini-clad supermodels right about now (well, hopefully it would be the other way around, but ya can't have everything I suppose)

What I don't understand is everyone saying he needs service he needs service. Beto got the ball to him but there's almost no chance Dom finished those. If you want your striker to just run hard and not score goals, which he doesn't, then why do you need to pay him £100k pw when any league 1 striker would do the same thing and score just as infrequently?
Dom does not time his runs well and he is frequently offsides. He does not make those runs nearly as well. Which is part of the reason he never gets those passes. Just because Dom needs better service doesn't mean he makes his own luck. He really doesn't.
