Think it’s more about a striker going clean through and nobody in the world expecting him to score
I thought he had a good game today and I thought he was very good against Bournemouth.
So thats the reason posters are accusing him of not caring, not working etc, because he hit the bar on a one v one that came about due to really good work?

Bar the 1v1 which showed a bizarre lack of confidence for a striker that had scored 2 in 2 and thinks he’s worth 675k a week, he was very good today.
Yes we would have won if he’d scored that chance so automatically he is the spawn of Satan. Booo! And he’s made a habit of missing those same chances (even against this same keeper!). But still, if his shot against the bar had been 2cm lower and we’d drawn he’d have been MoM. Did a lot of good.

He did work hard and play ok, but clearly that’s not the one v one that’s in people’s minds!
That's fair enough, I don't think anyone thinks he's a natural finisher, but attacking him irrationally is pretty redundant. Euston station behaviour.

Weirdly when he's got a guy on him and he battling to get the dot away he tends to hit the target, similarly if it's a first touch dink like v Bournemouth.

The moment he takes a couple of touches everything seems to get very very complicated in his head and looks like he's never gonna score

It's so frustrating. On his day he can be brilliant. He leads the line so well but has absolutely nothing either side of him and nobody in the team is capable of putting a cross in to him.
Then there's the utter brainfart moments like that yesterday that likely would have at least got us a point. You've been around for years, why on earth are you dallying in front of goal and unaware that their centre half is right next to you so you cannot possibly round the keeper?
At least for his second effort he put his boot through it, but half decent strikers score 2/2 goals there most of the time.

Such a strange one to assess , thought he played really well but tough not to say the one v one chances cost us the match .

We are 4 games in. He was good in parts last night but again when it matters he fluffed his lines.
He’s been terrible for 3 seasons now.
Stop hyping him up. He’s a terrible striker. Not one team came in for him, not even Saudi! It’s only a few dopes on here that actually rate him.
