From journos reports Newcastle wanted to offload Wilson and Minteh (there was talks of one of those PSR deals between us). They couldn't get rid of Wilson and Dom wanted £160k a week which they didn't want to pay.

From there I don't think there was any more interest.

I mean, Spurs paid £60mill for Solanke based off 1 good season at 27 and that isn't panning out. They could've gone for Dom for cheaper if he was rated.

The rumour was that we were asking £30-35mil.

We were in talks for Minteh as a swap.

Newcastle wanted to pay less for DCL whether in fee or also with wages.

If we had lowered our fee then he would now be gone.

Splitting hairs a bit there.

But I agree we could've lowered the asking price. But I don't think it would've put off other clubs to come in and negotiate.

But seemed to me like no other clubs were interested regardless

Oh go on mate. I take it you think this also contributes to clubs not signing him?

Being more serious, isn't he able to sign a pre-contract agreement in Jan too? It'll take a club truly desperate for firepower/a forward to pay out in that window.

He's got a manager who has him basically undroppable so there isn't any pressure at all to perform week in week out. The amount of poor centre halves who have had him in thier pocket this season is concerning.

How much is he actually on?
When he realises nobody wants to pay him what he wants I hope we don't extend his contract at a higher wage

He’s playing to not get injured m8!
 
I've always liked Dom, but Beto has been showing him up last couple of games. When a ball goes in to the box, Beto is like 'I'm winning this or getting on the end of it.' With Dom though, it seems like it's 'I might win this, or it might fall kindly'
