We've all seen what a struggling team and poor service has done to Haarland - has he all of a sudden turned into a crap player?

Not even a Dom specific observation, but until we see a partnership or a 433 (i.e. actual support), none of our strikers will look great. Dom sure don't cover himself in glory though.

It's funny, I was looking at all other strikers we have had, some of them we have spent huge money on (far more than DCL) and their comparative records.

If you looked at that list, the main conclusion is we don't create many chances for our strikers. The second conclusion would be that DCL is by no stretch the worst offender, and quite the opposite really.

He basically has way more goals than the rest of them combined in just over half the games. And they cost way over 100 combined as well, and have contributed 43 goals to DCLs 56. Like I'm doubtful we find the next Alan Shearer when he goes.

This managers tactics kill strikers, simple really.

Why would DCL kill himself playing in this, it must be soul destroying chasing your own flick ons constantly.

Get a proper manager in with an actual game plan and get players within 20 yards of whoever is in the 9, and we would see improvements and goals from DCL and the rest of the forward line.

Until then we’re wasting everyone’s time.
