2017/18 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

He's come back from the summer a completely different player, his touch as drastically improved as well as his movement. He showed extreme maturity against City and was roundly applauded by many.

He's more than capable of hitting double figures, the concern is that he's still going with only a handful of games under his belt and the fact that he hasn't had a real break considering he was away with England setup in the summer. Fatigue will play a part. So before the knives come out in December have some consideration

His workrate and (youthful?) energy is something we haven't really seen in a blue shirt in some time. To be encouraged, give him a chance Ron.

Think he'll mix it up Eggs. No doubt both Rooney and Sandro will play some games up top to give the lad a bresk. Wouldnt be surprised to see Niasse on the bench for some games.

Just looked at the fixture list this Autumn and they are coming thick and fast. Especially if we beat Sunderland. No gimmies in the EL either where ee can take a breather.

..totally agree, Fred (although Niasse would be a surprise). I can even see things getting regularly changed within games.

Injuries may force our hand Eggs. Don't expect him to be welcomed back into the fold with open arms, but we don't have many options and a couple of injuries will be enough to force his hand I reckon.

You knever know. Calvert could surprise us all and have a belter of a season. The boy certainly has a lot of potential. When he's up top things happen.

Just please please don't play him anywhere else except centre forward.

On the flip side this should surely help his development enormously and we could end up with quite a player on our hands by next season.

To get down to basics, can he compete for the ball in the air with the big thugs in defence?

He has to get on the end of Siggy's balls (if you take my meaning, squire) to be an effective striker for us.

I see him as a fantastic front runner but not really a target man in the box.
