I'm not sold on the lad tbh. He's still only very young and is definitely putting in a shift for us regularly, but I can't shake the feeling that he's only starting because we literally have no other option. There's an almost tangible desire amongst our fans for him to be the next Kane and there's only one way that ludicrous level of expectation will end. I hope I'm wrong. For now he's playing well and earned his place, but let's stop getting ahead of ourselves

I just loved bow after Kenny had given the free kick away with that snide tackle and Fer starting giving it, DCL comes steaming in, giving him a shoulder as he passes and wants to get involved. The boy's confident and not scared.

Not even close to sold on him tbh, people here get too easily impressed and then build up players with unrealistic expectations.

He’s going to have to improve his finishing ten fold to ever justify any kind of ludicrous comparison with Kane.

“Yer but Kane was crap and couldn’t finish, now look at him” is not a valid argument.

Love his effort, seems a good kid but his current standard is miles off what we need from a striker.

We all want him to do well because if he doesn't do well then we have no one else.

That said, his application is brilliant and he's improving all the time. Doubt he's going to be like Kane but he could with time become a 15 a season striker who also does hard graft for the team.

If there's only one way it can end how could you possibly be proven wrong? Nice Tuesday morning paradox.

I think the point people are making with Kane is he wasn't a great finisher and now he is so there's a chance DCL can become a great finisher too. Pretty simple viewpoint.

Chances are very slim he becomes a great finisher. Players like Kane do not come around very often in this country. Chances of England producing 2 strikers within a short period of time who can slot 30 goals a season are close to zero. The odds are vastly stacked in favour him not becoming a great finisher because the vast majority of players who can't slot at 20 can't slot at 30.

Lets hope he proves me wrong but lets be honest, hope is all it is... there are no signs so far of him suddenly becoming an amazing finisher.

There weren't with Kane either is all I'm saying. I think it's stupid for people to be so presumptuous about a 20-year old. I don't think he's the next Kane but I do see him getting better at finishing when we start creating more chances. He's shown a few times to have a cracking shot.
