I really don't get the idea that he gets a load of stick. People might have a bit of a moan about him on here but he gets total support at the match where it matters. I'd go as far as saying not many sets of supporters would be so patient with a lad with his PL goalscoring record.

My main gripe with the sticks he gets was shown perfectly on Saturday.
Missed a good 1v1 and failed to square to Tosun later on = Warranted stick
Follow up to Tosun’s first goal gets cleared off the line = gets slaughtered on here
I can absolutely guarantee if someone like Coleman had that shot cleared off the line and Tosun scores no one would have batted an eye.

Stayed on side, got in position, got a boot to it, cleared off the line. Proper don’t get why people are slagging him off over it.
Surely that would be because people feel the miss on Saturday was further evidence of him lacking a 'killer instinct' in front of goal though, which would be a fair criticism for a striker and not so much for a right back? In the same way that we might give Coleman stick for being skinned by a winger when we'd give DCL a bit more leeway due to it not really being something we'd expect him to be particularly good at.
I don’t think anyone’s needs killer instinct from that close though? Soon as he did that I knew this thread would go up 10 pages. People seem to love that he’s not scoring.
