Terrible player to be honest.

Out the young lads, Davies is the only one who will have a PL career I think.
Even that looks unrealistic as it stands. At the moment he's nowhere near the level needed and is showing signs of decline over signs of progression. Maybe it's second season syndrome. Maybe he's just not all that good. I guess we'll find out.

Agreed.

I don't included Holgate in this by the way, I think Holgate is an established member of the squad and should/will start most games at centre half next season.

I'd agree on Holgate, particularly when we compare him to our other players in his position. Baffling how he's not first choice now. We do need a starting CB, and then I'd leave it to be between him, Keane and Mori as the second starter, and offload the two arl gets.

Holgate and Keane will probably be the two next year, though I'd prefer to go and spend money on a more athletic centre half to partner Holgate.

I assume Jagielka, Keane and Holgate will be here next year + 1 more.

Williams and Mangala will leave, unfortunately so will Funes Mori.

That upsets me greatly, but I agree.

I'd love Mori to be given a chance to shine. Jagielka has been ok in the last two games but he's way, way past his best and should himself want to play every week. If could take a leaf out of John Terry's book and get himself down a division to prolong his career. Same with Williams.

Unfortunately we probably spent way too much on Keane to offload him and take a massive hit on him, so agree he'll be here. I'd be happy if it was Keane, Mori, Holgate + 1, but agree it'll much more likely be Jagielka over Mori.

Would you be surprised if we didn't go and get a starting CB?

Yes, we have to plan for the future as 2 out the 5 centre backs we have will retire at the end of the next season (or they should).

I feel like we've spent money last summer, that may come to fruition next year. I actually don't see many incomings at all, but with the money we recoup in the next window we must spend it on two power house places who dominate their positions. A centre half and a centre mid.

Ultimately, Funes Mori is an Argentinian international, he won't sit round all season and he won't be happy not playing.

Is he unpredictable? Yes.
Is he prone to a mistake? Yes.
Is he better than Mangala, Keane and Williams? Imo yes he is, I just don't think the management see it.

Bolasie came straight back into the side after 2x45 min cameos, the same for Coleman.

Funes Mori has been fit for weeks now, and is even with the international side. We must not fancy him.

That's the thing that has annoyed me. We've been pathetic, absolutely woeful, at the centre of defence all season. Michael Keane has been a shambles, and Jagielka, despite playing ok against poor opposition last two games, and Williams have been a laughing stock. And despite that a fit-again Argentinian international Mori can't get a single minute on the field.

Jagielka on his day is a great player - he's getting on now and he can't play every week (otherwise he would). He's had his share of niggling injuries and been in and out the side.

They have invested a lot of money into Keane. There has been talk of him being mentally weak and struggling with the pressure. I'm adamant they will stick by him (and rightly so actually) to protect their investment.

Then how can you say him playing lots next season will lose us points if you can’t prove he did this season?

Only point I’m making.
He'd need one hell of an improvement during the summer to make me believe he'd convert more of his chances into goals. Give those chances to Niasse and he'd absolutely score more than DCL. Same with Tosun.

That's why I don't agree with him being near the starting xi next season. Get him out on loan playing every week, becoming more clinical and getting his confidence up. Hopefully he'd return a better player for it!

Failed to address my question but okay haha.
