I dont know why people are so harsh on someone who has had little focus, regular help and has played in a crap team.
Judged on that basis, he has performed adequately, and well enough to deserve more time.

If we are aiming to be a 'top EPL' team, then we need three strikers - Tosun, Niasse and DCL - no?

Of course we can upgrade Niasse or Tosun, but then why not have a back up as a young English player?

DCL could score the winner against the RS next week and he'd still get bummed in here. Haters will hate.

He would be loved if he scored a winner against the RS but we would still know he is not the answer or not close to being the answer for a season or 2 so a loan would do him the world of good. Don't think it's hate just think most can see his limitations and he is not currently a player that can take us forward.......same applies to quite a number of our players.

Niasse needs replacing by a better second choice striker. But I agree DCL would be better served by staying here as 3rd choice striker tham going on loan to lower league. He will learn more being challenged against top defenders and training/playing alongside premier quality players.

He doesnt need to play every week at his age. The odd start anf cameos grom the bench in the right games is what he needs.

Mate. Half the detractors that post on here will bum him however he plays. They have decided already that he will never be good enough to play for us, which for somebody who turned 21 weeks ago is absurd.

I may be wrong, but I dont think any of his supporters believe he should be a regular starter for the first XI. In fact the majority of us agree that he is not ready and has played far too much football this season and most of it out of position like at the weekend.

If he does go on loan it needs to be to another Premier team or to the top tier in Germany or France. He will not develop going to the lower league. At his age he doesnt have to plau week in week out. What he needs is to be challenged and to learn from training/playing alongside top quality players.

Thats why I would keep him here but as our 3rd choice striker. So we'll need to bring someone else in alongside Tosun.

I'm in the camp that thinks he would be best served by a season long loan, probably to a championship club, but I don't really have a major complaint about him in the City game. He, along with the whole team basically, were left hung out to dry by someone so clueless that he decided that the City game, out of all the games he can chose from, was the perfect game to start two upfront. After about 5mins when it became abundantly clear that Wayne and Schneiderlin could not compete in midfield alone I think DcL might have received some instruction to help them if he could, which is why it probably appeared for long swathes of the game that he had no idea where he was playing.

I like him but he is a little bit short at this level currently imo. A far bigger concern of mine is getting Fatty and his gang of crooks out of our club however. They are the main issue.

I agree with your assessment of the game, Rooney & schneidelein struggled badly & were overrun in midfield & DCL looked in no mans land during long periods of the game...
However DCL needs to be part of our squad next season, he has improved vastly from last season & looks a fantastic prospect for the future, I believe he will show big improvement again next season & be an important part of our squad next season, we certainly have an exceptional talent here so we must use him to full capacity....
