Feel for him being played all over the shop but he has been crap in any position, don't see the point of any loan as I don't think he has what it takes at PL level, hope I'm proved wrong though.

I 'm not necessarily saying I would loan him out (it very much depends on how our recruitment goes in the summer) but i'm not sure I agree that going to the Championship would be a waste of time if we were to loan him out.

A season at a lower level where he could play with a bit more freedom and less pressure could be the making of him. If he bagged 15+ in the Championship it could do wonders for his confidence, whereas another season of just scoring 5-6 in the PL would have me seriously questioning whether he would ever make it with us.

There's arguments both ways, but I think it's foolish to think that he's somehow too good for a Championship loan.
Name me one Chelsea player it has worked with. Over the last 7/8 seasons they have had the best acadamies and England youth teams crammed with their players. Name one tbey have brought through.

Once they reach a certain level they only learn playing with and against the best. DCL could score 15 in the champiinship next year against poor defenderd and then struggle again when put up sgainst top guys. Look at Abraham this season.

I don't think we'll loan him out either mind. I just mean whilst giving him 40 games in the Championship may sound good, the level isn't similar to what we need him to play against for Everton, if that makes sense? Even if he scores 15 goals, it's confidence sure but we still then aren't sure whether he can then do it in the PL.

Abraham is someone that looked good for Bristol City but then looks fairly average for Swansea (25 games - 4 goals / 2 assists). I'd rather we sent Dom to a team like Swansea next season to see if he can cut it as a starting forward in the PL then watch him potentially score a fair few in the Championship and then come back here and not translate that form. Seems like a wasted season for our player.
Spot on Nymz.

Name me the 13 teams in the Championship that, right now, would ne competitive in the prem.

Really don't think they'd be a million miles away. Look at how competitive Brighton, Huddersfield and Newcastle have been this season without breaking the bank with investment in their squads. Outside of the top 6 the Premier League really does have a vacuum of quality, hence Burnley sitting in 7th place.

That doesn't really work as an argument though. It's not the standard of loan that the Chelsea players have which determines whether they make or not, it's the quality of player in front of them and the demands for instant results placed on managers by the board. That's why despite Lukaku, de Bruyne, McEachran, Ake, Thorgan Hazard etc etc being loaned out at the top level, they still couldn't make the breakthrough at Chelsea when they got back.

Again, I'm not saying I believe a loan to the Championship is what the lad needs, simply that I don't think it's as simple as saying stepping down a level would be pointless at this stage of his development.

Loan for me. His game is still raw and he needs reps against competition that isn’t beyond him. There are glimpses, but his passing and finishing need work as they fail under the pressure and pace of the PL.

He's had to play in midfield, on the wing and at wing back this season when he can't even play up front. Feel for him

You could easily swap the top 10 in the championship with the bottom 10 in this league and there'd be no drop off in quality
That's pure conjecture. I looked at the FA cup ties this season between the two groups and the premier teams went through in five out of five, including bottom team Swansea knocking out top team Wolves (after a replay admittedly). Not an ideal comparison but the best I can come up with, and it doesn't exactly confirm your theory.

I've stated a number of times that this is the worst premier league I can remember in terms of quality, but to suggest you could just swap over 10 teams from each and see no difference in quality is just silly.

Mate, I'm not necessarily talking about making the mark at Chelsea, I'm talking about making a career at the top level in football. The names you quote actually prove the point I'm making tbh. Lukaku, De Bruyne, Ake, Hazard and probably anther half dozen at least if I look into it, all went on loan to a good quality premier division. They may have all been subsequently sold, but every one of them is still playing at the top level. Look at Andreas Christensen too. Following a 2 year loan in the Bundesliga he's been arguably Chelsea's best defender this season and he's what, just 22.

Conversely look at Josh McEachran. For his age he was probably the brightest prospect of the lot possibly, excluding Lukaku. He had a number of starts for Chelsea from the age of 17 and was generally regarded at the time as the next big thing in English football. There came a change of manager and at 18 he was sent on loan to Swansea for the second half of the 2011/12 season. He was up against Sigurdsson for game time and didn't play as much as he wanted, but by that stage had already enjoyed 20+ games at the top level. Following season he went on loan to Middlesbrough down in the championship where he performed well overall and was a regular in the U21 side as a 19 yo. But he didn't develop at Middlesbrough. He was decent at that standard but didn't step up as you would have expected, despite playing over 30 games. However, I do believe that had he gone back into the Chelsea squad, or gone on loan to a top league, then things could have still worked out for him. But 2 more championship level loans followed and he's still playing there now.

In my opinion, that is because he wasn't being challenged and also because he was playing against and alongside mediocre quality players week in week out. In my opinion that will be what happens if we send DCL to the championship, or Davies, Holgate, Lookman, Vlasic, Sandro, Klaassen and Kenny for that matter (like so many on here have been suggesting). Either send them out on loan to top divisions, or keep them here so we can control their development ourselves. Or just simply sell them if we don't think they will make it.

Shame about McEachran. If Ancelotti had stayed at Chelsea it could've been very different for him. He's exactly the type of player England sorely need right now.
