Not exactly revolutionary thoughts here. Has anyone in the world said he's close to as good as Kane or Rashford? DCL needs a loan.

But a loan isnt going to magically turn him into a prolific finisher. Yes it may improve his game but he just isnt going to ever be good enough to play for the Everton who we all hope will be challenging for the top 6/trophies in the coming seasons.

The club needs to move away from championing players who aint good enough on the basis that they are young/try hard.

Lukaku was slated whereas people loved the likes of Naismith and Strac running around fist pumping. Players like Osman and Hibbert given fruitful careers despite being very limited, Baxter given a 2nd chance despite his previous behaviour.

He'll make a good career for himself but for a bottom half club squad player or good championship level forward like Cameron Jerome, Dwight Gayle etc.

It literally made me weep going from Romelu Lukaku to this lad playing up top this season - was an absolute travesty which should have cost Walsh his job on the spot.

A loan will make or break him. He is young so with more games and experience he might calm down a bit, wise up and be more clinical. Not to be written off just yet but as of now he is not our answer......but could be in a year or two. Too soon to write him off.

Perfectly summarised; couldn't have put it better myself. Sad state of affairs for us to have resorted to giving this lad 30-odd games this season despite him quite obviously being abso-bleedin-lutely nowhere near good enough.

I love all these fox in the box strikers on here asking how did he miss that shot.
Anyone thats played at a decent level, knows the pace the ball was pinging round, the angle, and the amount of players between the ball and the goal, it isnt an easy shot.
Yes, if he is going to be better , he needs to do better there!

But i hate our fans some times, you wonder why Barkley wanted to get out as quick as possible, you wonder why davies form has been patchy. Just get behind them.
This "He's not good enough!" Stuff isnt helping, how does it help?
Our past 4 managers (debatable on what level these managers are), have all rated him enough to select him, the england camp hold him in high regard, but Mick on an internet forum eating a multi pack of wotsits, watching re runs of old going live episodes so they can beat it to emma forbes, think he is terrrible because he dosent have the same stats as michael owen had

@micknick ???

At the same age
Louis Saha had scored 6 goals in 57 games for Newcastle & Metz
Van Nistelrooy had scored 17 in 71 for Den Bosh
Alan Shearer 23 in 118 games for southampton
Stan collymore 1 goal in 20 for crystal palace
Daniel Sturridge 12 goals in 47 games
Harry Kane 12 in 47 games

Obviously im selecting ones that suit my argument because we could all look at Rooney, Fowler, Owen etc.
But just slagging the lad off when he has clear potential is just stupid

He was excellent when he came on, overall.

He's a very good player with a lot of ability, and he backs it up with hard work.

His end product isn't good enough and his finishing is poor. He fluffed his lines for that chance, but we've had better players than him miss easier chances, too.

I'd loan him out and hope he bangs a few goals in against slower defences. He needs to bulk up a bit too.
