Ok fair comments. But lets be honest City are a very good side even with 10 men. I'd say we are a good team looking to get better. But still a long way to go to consistently match up to City at the monent. They played very well even with 10 men.
With almost all guys that have played together for some time. We are still developing as a club and it's going to take some time.

His movement off the ball is plenty good. His first touch could be better. But his pace, his speed, his power, he's a complete beat of a CF that is going to score a ton of goals at Man U like he did for us.

His movement off the ball isn't good at all mate
Yeah he will score a lot at United, but this is the honeymoon period, helped by United being gifted with an absolutely ridiculously easy set of opening fixtures besides us they play bottom half teams the first 7 games this season.

When he get those tougher games, watch how he struggles and the flaws in his game will be magnified as he's under the microscope much more at United - the lack of running/effort, the bad control and lack of hold up play, arm waving and pointing all the time for a pass when he's standing still and marked tightly will see him get slaughtered by media, pundits and United fans.

He'll get 20+ but he will also get a lot of blame for those big games United fail to win.

I am sure it's been mentioned here before so my anti-vault cloak is on ... but
I've seen a marked improvement in DCL recently and very much so since the arrival of Wayne Rooney ...
Is there a correlation ?
I think he is st least giving the kid a lift just by being around

He's got potential, but that's all at the moment and he will have poor games but his performance against City was hopefully a sign of what's to come. He's also having to take stick for his alleged dive, melts like Carragher too quick to point the finger and publicly calling him could affect his game, so let's see what he's made of.

I'm sure that won't be hindering him at all. Also being a lot more familiar with his team mates and having a full pre season with the first team will have done wonders for him.

It keeps coming back to the same facts for me. 20 years old, been with us just over 12 months, when we signed him he had little first team experience, wasn't even in the England U19s, ...... his rise from such a base in the past 12 months has been hugely impressive. Now a regular at England U20s and WCup winner and a regular member of our first team squad. He's clearly got a huge appetite to listen and improve his game allied to his physical qualities. This is where the likes of Big Dunc and the coaches earn their money by helping to improve on those areas of his game where he's still weak. Lots of work still to do but an exciting prospect.

Nobody questioned his lack of pace/speed and power though.

His movement isn't plenty good lad at all. Rarely does he run into space. Rarely will he intelligently lose a defender and don't get me started about him consistently being flagged for offside (which is movement off the ball). The fact the stats say he ran the least Km's per game than anyone else. His movement is atrocious.

His control and first touch of a football has been well documented.

Everyone needs to calm down. I was delighted his played well on Monday and I really hope he proves me wrong.... but he has been absolutely garbage in each of his other 20 appearances, like embarrasingly bad. Hope he continues to play like he did though, fair play to the lad.

We need a top top striker though.
