Everyone needs to calm down. I was delighted his played well on Monday and I really hope he proves me wrong.... but he has been absolutely garbage in each of his other 20 appearances, like embarrasingly bad. Hope he continues to play like he did though, fair play to the lad.

We need a top top striker though.

Clearly from that angle Walker has a sly look then clouts DCL on the chin.

And to think DCL got enormous stick for diving/simulation/feigning injury from all quarters (particularly Sky who for some reason preferred to use other angles that showed no contact), is bang out of order.

I'm sure that won't be hindering him at all. Also being a lot more familiar with his team mates and having a full pre season with the first team will have done wonders for him.

I wasn't suggesting Rooney is hindering DCL
I was suggesting the total opposite
I think the influence of a great player and awesome striker in the team alongside him is paying huge rewards for his confidence and performance

You must have been watching different games to me matey. Hes not been garbage at all, hes been very steady. Yes, he is still potential, but its a nice potential to have. We bought Lukaku on potential didnt we?

Tbf Lukaku had 2 seasons in the prem at 1 goal in 2 when we bought him. But he's the exception not the rule. A lot of good strikers don't score a lot of goals early in their career.

His appearances last season were shocking. His name was barely muttered in any commentary I watched, and did nothing of note apart from a tap in from 2 yards. Let's not get carried away and say he's been somewhat decent based on one good game since he's been here.

He was almost an empty shirt last season and we've reverted to punt and run with him in the side this.

I must be watching a different game than you , or at least watching the games in a different way.
I think DCL has been effective in nearly every game has played and most of these in a position which is not his most favourite.
He has set up both our goals so far this season , scored himself last season and all of this from a lad who was a Sheff. Utd. reserve barely twelve months ago.

I think he is heading towards being a top player.
