I wasn't suggesting Rooney is hindering DCL
I was suggesting the total opposite
I think the influence of a great player and awesome striker in the team alongside him is paying huge rewards for his confidence and performance
I know mate. I was agreeing with you. And adding some more benefactors.
I possibly worded it incorrectly.

His appearances last season were shocking. His name was barely muttered in any commentary I watched, and did nothing of note apart from a tap in from 2 yards. Let's not get carried away and say he's been somewhat decent based on one good game since he's been here.

He was almost an empty shirt last season and we've reverted to punt and run with him in the side this.

Just about sums up your post mate.

he needs to play upfront, that's his position. And score some goals. On the wing, he's sh1te. At wingback, he's sh1te.

Play him up top tomorrow, Rooney behind, and let's see

I love how he's gone from everyone slating him to the media calling for him to be picked for England off the back of one match. Then if he doesn't perform against Chelsea it'll be all about how rubbish he is again...

Can we just say we've got a developing talent who is already capable of a good performance against a top side and if he can develop consistency and improve his finishing could be a real player for us?

Nobody questioned his lack of pace/speed and power though.

His movement isn't plenty good lad at all. Rarely does he run into space. Rarely will he intelligently lose a defender and don't get me started about him consistently being flagged for offside (which is movement off the ball). The fact the stats say he ran the least Km's per game than anyone else. His movement is atrocious.

His control and first touch of a football has been well documented.

He covered the least ground out of all strikers in the prem last year I believe

Clearly from that angle Walker has a sly look then clouts DCL on the chin.

And to think DCL got enormous stick for diving/simulation/feigning injury from all quarters (particularly Sky who for some reason preferred to use other angles that showed no contact), is bang out of order.

Havnt seen that angle before.. it was an intentional knock,.. although not an elbow or anything... but had eyes on the player and the ball was nowhere near DCL... walker actually moves out of the way of the flight of the ball to do it. Not a dangerous foul but had intent , was off the ball and was a kind of professional foul so a yellow was always possible and he can't really complain... Morgan however? Should feel hard done by

Physically, he is almost the perfect striker. He might need to add a bit of muscle, but he is rapid for his size. If he can become more polished in his finishing and dribbling, the sky is the limit.

How so ?

I will re-phrase. Any game I watched, the commentary barely muttered his name. Conclusion = an empty shirt
Watch a game live and you will have a different perspective on it, trust me. Because a commentater doesnt mention a players name doesnt mean he is garbage like you reckon he is. Go to a game or when you watch on tv turn the sound down and make your own mind up.

It was kind of a tongue and cheek comment to be fair mate. I'm perfectly capable of judging a player with my own eyes. I added the commentary part because its further proof he's just not involved.

If it doesn't match your opinion of the same player, doesn't mean I'm wrong. It's very Evertonian to get caught up in a potential future world star, romantic isn't it?

I've learnt my lesson from many lead balloons in the past. Those 90 minutes aside, he's been bang average and I stand by that, given that he's done nothing of any note in his previous appearances for Everton.

Also, I now live in Boston, MA and living 4000 miles away stalls regular visits to Goodison.
