All of them? I bet a large amount of democrat voters are anti abortion too.
Being anti something doesn't mean you believe it should be criminalized.

I disagree with a number of things, yet accept that it's other peoples choice.

I just have a huge problem with intellectual inconsistency. The Right is all about no government interference, except when it crosses their religious or personal values, then they expect something be done about it. (Excluding libertarians, who I just find to be economically simplistic, and often tone deaf to others' reality...they at least aren't intellectually inconsistent).

Depends on where the middle is, doesn't it?

The American middle is actually pretty far to the right.

Politically those terms seem dead, serving only to denote one's tribe.

In real terms, meeting in the middle means the meeting of opinions, the understanding of the other's position and ultimately the necessary compromise intended to benefit as many as possible. It's like what the role of Congress should be when ideology takes a backseat (if only).

In that respect Trump is making less of an effort than Clinton, and could swing undecided 'third way' voters more Hillary's direction.

Some interesting variables to ponder. Makes me wish Rand Paul broke through.

You could argue the same about the left who talk about liberalism yet are getting more and more authoritarian and intolerant of dissenting opinion.

Makes Marty's posts seem more reasonable as he's a tad willing to understand both sides.

Just a heads up, for the answer is always somewhere in the middle.

I think it's quite obvious which stripes he wears as well.

Liberals have always fought for positive change in society. Whether it be women's right, minorities rights, LGBT rights etc etc etc.

Conservatives fight tooth and nail to not allow positive change.

Overturning Roe v Wade would be a disaster for women's rights.

The left are happy to ignore religious freedoms to push thier agenda.

I don't actually disagree and am regularly found frustrated by the 'left' in America. Especially when they go all anti-science with crap like anti-vax.

I believe we need to work to a better, tolerant future. I believe that power tends to corrupt people. I believe that the workers in America have been royally ****** for decades now. I believe that Reaganism has manifestly failed. I believe that this country has been at its best when we work together. So I side with the group that is at least paying lip service to inclusiveness.

But I realize it's lip service and all meaningless anyway. The power structure has reinforced itself pretty heavily, and it will take something big to upend it.

Whatever, we're all just stardust, and will be stardust again soon enough.

The media has been an absolute disgrace throughout the whole election build up. Completely biased against Trump from the get go, and make no mistake about it.

Latest one is a furore about him saying "I'll accept the result of the election... if I win", but I question why they aren't reporting him saying, directly after that "Of course I'll accept a clear result, but I will reserve my right to contest a legal challenge in the case of a questionable result". What he said is 100% fine, no problem whatsoever, yet a pathetic negative spin it put on him speaking tongue in cheek to his supporters.

He's bang on when he calls out the media for being corrupt.
