He's basically Davy Klaassen. This isn't a bad thing btw, necessarily.

Klaassen was a bloody good player when we bought him. He was totally misused and thrown into the side incorrectly and then bombed out to never get a look in. Really, he needed at least 6 months to adapt to the pace of the Prem but we didn't give him that.

VdB is definitely a better passer than Klaassen, he has more range, but his best skill is his ability to keep things ticking over quickly and finding space to get into the final third. We do lack that so I think in this new system that Lampard will likely play, it'll work.

It would have been a stupid signing for Benitez.

Well that’s slightly reassuring then, he has use for him rather than square pegs in round holes; or has we’ve come to know it: the Everton way.

Yes, we definitely need another in the middle; sure it up, limp to safety and reassess everything in the summer

The problem is: A lot of players look good in the Ajax system. Taken out of that system (Evertons long ball s..t) they are only average, at best!

Well, he should be press resistant and has the ability to take the ball from the defence and ping it to the wings or up front quickly to turn defence into attack.

1: Allan is not a holding player

2: DVB is not a box to box player

3: Gomes is not an advanced midfielder

I think with Lampard wanting to actually have a team that can pass to each other, it should suit Van de Beek

Minimum of 4 weeks... Usually get 6 or 7 when it's us.
