MU fans don't know what they want.
Change their minds game by game.

Someway somehow, we need to get this lad signed.
Offer them Rodon and Tosun as part of a swap deal!

The sort of intelligence he has is what Arteta Osman Pienaar Barry used to have. Somewhere along the way we lost that and started buying players who not only didn’t have that type of intelligence but with the exception of Gueye and Doucoure couldn’t run either.

There’s nothing exceptional about what he did at the weekend, just keeping possession moving, moving into space, sensing danger, and finding forward passes, but it’s night and day from our current midfield who struggle with the basics of controlling a ball and passing it.

I fear that Ten Haag or Pochettino would want him in their team and use him, but if they make more modified signings he might fancy his chances here better.

….uncomplicated and effective. I like uncomplicated and effective footballers, they make the game look simple.
The best players do make the game simple. Great midfielders have time on the ball and can dictate play. Pirlo, Modric Busquets etc. They don’t need to beat 3 men and score goals to be effective within a team. But their ability allows them to control the ball in tight situations and move the ball on. I’m not suggesting at all Donny is anywhere near that level, but his positioning on Saturday was excellent and he played it simple.

Got to say, I was most impressed at his tackling and getting stuck in. I thought he would be a tidy progressive passer and would be a good link man but thought in a midfield two he’d be too lightweight - especially in our midfield which already lacks physicality. Showed he’s got a few sides to his game, looked good Saturday.

When I read a couple of reports on him they suggested he lacked strength in the tackle and was too light weight to play in our midfield. I expected him to be tidy on the ball and accurate with his passing so the fact that he can help out with the defensive side of things is a nice bonus. It will be interesting to see if his presence will allow Doucoure the freedom to bomb forward or if we can play Deli as a No. 10 behind DCL and Richy.
