It was a Leeds without key midfielders too.
Let’s give him 3-4 games to judge his consistency.
I agree with this about DVDB and Frank Lampard too.

While I am made up with the start both of them have made, our wins came against a very poor Brentford side and a Leeds team that lacked the tenacity in midfield that you can usually expect with them. That being said, I am convinced we would have won against pretty much anyone on Saturday with the crowd and the players up for it.

100%.

He'll be in his manager's ear telling UTD to get ****ed though, and if he enjoys his time here - may well ask him to organise a deal with us.

Whether we can afford his services we will have to wait and see.
World Cup next October.
He will want to be somewhere where he is getting guaranteed game time.
I don’t think United whoever their new manager is will guarantee him that.
Even Ten Haag will want to evaluate all his midfielders if he gets the job

“I’ve been speaking to a few people at the club and they’ve said that he’s gone in there and lifted the levels, training-wise…”

I’m not one to get carried away usually but it does certainly seem like he’s a cut above what we already have.

He played against Leeds the way I was hoping Klaassen was going to play. The ball was coming into him then being moved on by him so quickly, there was no point tackling him. That is what we have needed , no standing looking around for the pass, he knew where it was going as it was coming into him. Clever player! I have a feeling we wont get to keep him though, if he has a great season with us, Utd will want him back and if they don't, loads of CL clubs will.

You are probably right.

But the old romantic in me wants him to be ace, and stay. "Once it touches you" and all that.

If he shows more of the same over our coming games then all our efforts need to go into recruiting a player in the same mould this summer.

He's the next Bracewell. Similar player, intelligent, can spot a pass and puts his foot in. But, regrettably, we are unlikely to sign him as Manure haven't put a clause into the loan deal and, presumably, are just giving him an opportunity to get game time. If he continues in the same vein then let's just enjoy him while we can. And his attitude will rub off on the other players.

imo he controlled that midfield on Saturday, its not often a side will come to Goodison Park and only have 7 attempts at goal with 0 on target, yes we were lucky that Rodrigo's two attempts outside the box hit the bar but the fact that Leeds resorted to long range efforts shows how frustrated they were with the lack of opportunities being created

you can praise iwobi all you like but he's shown on many occasions that he is inconsistent, hopefully he starts producing more consistent performances.

you cannot underline the importance of having a good central midfielder who can do both the defensive work and has great passing ability - they are rare. You look at doucoure who is deemed one of the best midfielders in the league yet he has such poor passing.

for me its a real shame there is no option to buy him in the summer, however i hope like many past loanees his head will be turned in the summer and he would welcome a move to everton should we agree a fee for the fella in the summer. I think if he keeps performing like this, man utd will easily command 50-60 mil for him if not more.

im really excited to see him, allan and doucoure play together in midfield one day and dominate sides.
