Well, I think given that we showed we can beat man city under the lights, in a big game, and have taken 4 points of Chelsea and that Martinez seems to take cups extremely seriously, I'd expect a chance of progressing.

Imagine the scenes, as Everton, Reading, Hull and Shrewsbury make it to the semis... Then imagine the fume when it's a reading Shrewsbury final!

lol...I love your ingenuousness...but football nowadays is ALL about money. What is Chelsea's last realistic chance for Europe football next season?....and you think that TPTB (aka Roman's mates), are not aware of the avenue?...we have NO chance. Money OWNS football...get with the script.

I'd almost argue that they'd prefer not to be in Europe, if it means no Europa League.

Look at Liverpool and United even Leicester this year... No Europe = 100% attention to league, no fixture backlogs, nothing.

Them winning the cup, well that's irrelevant, they'll of course want to win it, but simply for the fact it's a trophy, not for the Europa league.

Not the easiest draw, but by no means the worst. Both players and fans will be well up for this especially if it's under the lights.

We have a decent home record against these recently and with any luck they'll have a hard fought midweek penalty shoot out win a few days before. I do think if we're going to progress we have to do it at Goodison, I don't think we can afford to go to a replay.

Let's have em

Agree besides rather they lost in those circumstances, a loss would leave them on the floor, a win they would be buoyed up, lets get them rock bottom and crushed please

The Chelsea playing now is nowhere near the Chelsea of four weeks ago. The reality for me is that late equaliser seems to have stirred something in them. Since that game they have scored 5 three times and Terry being ruled out has enabled them to play a back four where the two full backs are very fast and in the case of Rahman they have a fullback who gets back and forward at quite a pace.Just looking at the two teams fixtures in league terms Chelsea will have played three as opposed to Evertons two and of course Chelsea have PSG in the CL.

Forget all this about priority once you get to this stage of any competition if you don't take it seriously then you really are a disgrace.

i heard last night that the games will played over 4 days and with a replay yet to be scheduled, Chelsea, Arsenals and indeed even Man Utd possible involved in European games over the period I suspect that that the game will be it on either the Monday or Saturday.

Seriously mate?

Eerrrrm yeah they have been terrifying, since we drew 3-3 all with them and got robbed by the linesman

Played 75 minutes against a ten man Arsenal and won 1-0
0-0 away draw at Watford
1-1 draw at home to a United in terrible shape
and battered a Newcastle team who have been absolutely terrible

Cup results, got battered and fluked away a 2-1 loss in Paris, and battered a Man City under 21's side who held them close for the first half

Sorry but exactly how are they suddenly a terrifying team

Didn't say they were terrifying, did I, lad?

Said it was the worst draw. Only Arsenal would on paper be worse, but they'd likely play a weakened team.

Chances are Chelsea will also play a slightly weakened team due to having the CL game a few days from this.

Arsenal would be a massively more difficult game than against Chelsea

I think someone pointed out the Chelsea CL game is before they play us. the Arsenal CL game is after fa cup weekend so they would play a weakened team. Anyway, whatever. We'll beat them anyway.
