Dave 2 weeks ago you claimed Martinez was a better manager than him.

LOL
He is. Look at how long Deschamps has had that French team and they basically squeaked past Belgium.

Deschamps gets his plaudits though because if you win the WC you just do. It's axiomatic. There is no higher prize in the game.

Take a look at the shortlist for FIFA best managers of 2018.

The war's over. You lost.

How has anyone lost ?
We all know he was a joke over his time here (although started well , with Moyes work ).
He inherited a great Belgium squad and failed to deliver.
Good luck to him , but not welcome here.
Move on lid, enjoy what is happening here.
He is of no relevance to us now.

I have moved on. Others haven't though. Very bitter people. Still fighting wars they'll never win.

Anyway, this is the galoot's thread.

I know if he had any ambition he'd be proving his worth as manager somewhere.

The fact he isn't trying that tell's you all you need to know.

Not wanting to be a manager (if that is even the case) has no bearing on whether he's a good coach. Some people are more aware of The Peter Principle / their own limitations than others. Some people just like the job they have - I'm really not arsed about becoming a Head of Function in my company, doesn't mean I can't do the job I am in now.

I have no idea whether he's any good as a coach or not.

And neither do you.

Is squeaking past Belgium bad? They are loaded talent-wise. France conceded possession, but they outshot Belgium like 2 to 1.

If anyone squeaked by anyone it was Belgium over Japan.

He gave the galoot the job in the first place. You dont bite the hand that feeds you.

Cant believe that Caledonian fraud has wangled another spot on the bench.

HHMMM Were you cheering when he was knocking those goals or shouting to tell him to do one??????

Plus what has the posts on here about managers to do with Dunc?

Lukaku, niasse and dcl have all improved since he's coached them. Too soon to say if tosun has improved yet, but he seems better with the ball this season.

Let's be honest, I don't think any of our strikers have got worse being coached by dunc, he's just had pretty crap options to work with.

Coach and Manager are two different jobs. Not wanting to be a manager has nothing to do with coaching ability.

And a lot of teams now have a DOF and a head coach, the 'manager' role (such as Ferguson and Wenger) is slowly getting phased out. I can see the majority of clubs employing this model in the future.
