Duncan Ferguson the coach

It was Martinez who first spotted something about him re coaching ability and if I remember right vaulted him into first team coaching ahead of Sheedy and Unsworth. He’s the DCL of the coaching world, people will moan about him because they can’t see what he brings, but somehow a variety of managers look at him and see something they like, so he must be doing something right.
Can't see how any fan can say anything for or against him as a coach really, just purely guessing, they've never been coached by him! And why people want him out of the club is baffling, probably just didn't like him as a player.

If he wasn't good enough he wouldn't have got the job and he wouldn't be here still.

Allardyce said he wanted to see how things went with Alan Kelly before deciding whether to keep him or get a new GK coach, it might be the same with Duncan.

Not a chance in the Sam will bin Dunc, PR disaster.

Pictures yesterday with him, the or and Dunc were well evidence of that.

He won't want to the manager that forced Big Dunc out of the club.

Everton’s first team coach says he is learning every day under the new Everton manager.

“The boss has been brilliant with me,” said Ferguson. “He’s given me a lot of responsibilities and I’ve really enjoyed it. Of course, you’ve got Sammy Lee there as well who’s got tremendous experience, and Craig too. They’ve all been managers in the Premier League themselves so there’s a lot of experience there and it’s good to be learning off those guys. You’re learning every day and I’m trying to hang on to every word that these lads are saying for my own education. Everybody is learning every day - that’s the job, and when a new manager comes in it gives you new ideas again.”

What's he learning for if he never goes out and becomes a manager himself?

The feller is an utter charlatan. He's been in the dugout years and you have to ask yourself why he's survived and why he has no intention of testing himself as a boss somewhere else, because he'll never get the Everton job.

Leave my Duncan alone you monster - he might just like being a coach at Everton.

He's survived a few culls now so I'm guessing he's at the very least okay at his job.

I have a feeling that if Ferguson and Jeffers left they wouldn't be missed. At all.

you can be a top class coach and not be suited to management, they are entirely different jobs

I dont see any evidence of DF being a top class coach. He added nothing to Lukaku's game, despite all the talk he did. And I cant think of any other striker coming through and vastly improving.

In all honesty, DCL has improved quite a lot from what he was with the U23. Was much more raw and much worse at... well, his overall play.

Not saying he's now Ronaldo (the fat one), but there's definitely improvement there...

Just game time at the top level with better players.
