I think it's a very shrewd move by Lampard. He'll know that Ferguson is very popular amongst the players and also with a large part of the fan base. The position will be relatively minor compared to his current role and the chances are that Ferguson will not accept it and look for another more senior role elsewhere. He's well respected and has a decent CV experience wise. But if he does stay, even just for a while until something else turns up, then he'll be useful to the manager whilst he settles in and his actions will be popular with the players. Surely he wasn’t expecting to actually be in with a chance? He should be actively looking for vacant managerial jobs now if he wants to manage us at some point.He didnt say it as a matter or fact, it was more his opinion to be fair to Bobble.
Ferguson has again been overlooked for the Managers job for someone whos only been a Manager for a few years, you'd question your position at the Club too if that happened.
