Dunc's Chance to Shine

I don’t see how he can now join Lampard‘s back room staff, surely his influence on any decisions taken would now be lessened. Once he was passed over after Carlo left the writing was on the wall for him, he can’t stay on in the background and then come out of the shadows when the manager fails and expect to be chose. He keeps saying he doesn’t have the right experience, well now would appear to be the perfect time to strike out and get that experience. I am sure Everton would help him in any new post he took up, with loan deals etc.
Much a I don’t want to see Everton without Big Dunc I do want to see him making a success of things. He is in a difficult position, who amongst us at fifty would want to uproot themselves, their family and move to another part of the country to face a new challenge when you are perfectly happy where you are.

'Kin hell Fronk, what are you doing!??!
I think it's a very shrewd move by Lampard. He'll know that Ferguson is very popular amongst the players and also with a large part of the fan base. The position will be relatively minor compared to his current role and the chances are that Ferguson will not accept it and look for another more senior role elsewhere. He's well respected and has a decent CV experience wise. But if he does stay, even just for a while until something else turns up, then he'll be useful to the manager whilst he settles in and his actions will be popular with the players. It's a win win situation for him. Very clever to be honest.

This is like telling your 35 year old child to move out. It's about bloody time you found your own feet. We look forward to you looking after us in return in 25 years time.

Worth remembering that not every coach can or wants to make it as a manager. Paul Clement, our (rumoured?) new second-in-command, has a pretty glittering career as an Assistant but couldn't quite cut it as a manager. It's a different, if related, set of skills, and it's a very unforgiving career as the top dog.

Thought the bobble said he was leaving?

He didnt say it as a matter or fact, it was more his opinion to be fair to Bobble.

Ferguson has again been overlooked for the Managers job for someone whos only been a Manager for a few years, you'd question your position at the Club too if that happened.

Surely he wasn’t expecting to actually be in with a chance? He should be actively looking for vacant managerial jobs now if he wants to manage us at some point.

This pleases me .

It shouldn't, if you have someone other than the kitman that's been through 6 different managers and we've been mostly useless throughout then whatever he is coaching into the players isn't working.

It's just saying we are a jobs for the boys club and not a hard nosed winning machine. Can you imagine anything like this happening at a club that actually win stuff?

I will take that back though if he is made u23 forwards coach or similar, I have no issues with Dunc taking something like that.
