Transfer Rumour Dwight McNeil

Who says the club doesn't have a plan?

Thats my point - a lot of moaning lately before anything has even happened.

If we are midtable come November - moan about the manager.

If McNeil is bang average by November - moan about signing him

If Gray and Townsend are wastes of space by November - hammer the club for signing them.

But until then whats with the endless crying over spilt milk when a kin ball hasnt been kicked? lol
You don't have to wait and see on everything mate.

Like we could sign Jozy Altidore tomorrow. Should we give him until November?

The same Lingard who GOT were calling utterly useless before he signed for WHU? Exactly my point :hayee:
First you should have gone to the doctor because it's been way longer than four hours with you and Lingard.

Secondly West Ham were in 5th before Lingard kicked a ball for them last season. So fact is they went backwards with him in the team sorry to say.

Went backwards he scored about 10 goals in 15 games you mad man lol

It's not whether they're good enough for Everton like we're some kind of elite club it's whether or not they're a good player for anyone. McNeil has the benefit of age on his side but he's played essentially 2.5 PL seasons and not shown much progress at all and is not currently a good player. He's still worth trying to buy and improve but I think you need to have a specific idea of what you're going to do. If our plan is put him on the left and let him hit crosses we're just getting the Burnley player and that guy is not worth 25m and doesn't make us better.
Pretty consistent 2-3 goals, 5-6 assists/year may be what you term "no progress" (please correct if that's not what you mean) but Burnley went from 45 and 43 goals the prior years to 33 last term.

Can’t just go by stats when he’s playing for Burnley ffs. We can watch games and judge how good a player is rather than sticking a name into Google.

Yeah I'm just saying for me he's not really too different now from when he broke in during the 18/19 season. So while he's still young that doesn't make much difference if he's not improving.

Could be argued that in order to take the next step up he needs to move. Not that I subscribe to that particularly as Burnley suit his style and are a good team on their day, but it could be argued that’s why he’s stalling. Still, his age profile is good and has shown he can put in a good delivery. Is left footed to boot. If Villa are serious through he’ll most likely end up there

I agree he probably does need to move to improve. However I'm looking at what we're doing and it reads to me like we want to basically be Burnley because DCL is an animal in the air and while I don't hate that it makes me not want to do the McNeil thing.

Also he's on the surface a terrible fit with Digne imo.

Once again a small bet changes the SkyBet market.
He was 5/1 earlier and now 11/4.

Same with Dumfries.. now 1/2.
