Transfer Rumour Dwight McNeil

Im happy with £25m.

Hes a Good Player, only 22 in November, will have resale value (unlike half the huff we’ve signed recently), and is a good option to have.

Anyone comparing the signing to Michael Keane needs to stop. Michael Keane expert at heading away, clearing, a stopper… exactly how Burnley play.

McNeil is literally Anti-Burnley. He’d do, all day.

Is he? To me he looks like a wide player who whips in crosses and does little else. That's pretty Burnley.

Now I'm not saying he can't be more but this is why I've always thought spending on him was extra risky. Because he's not playing in a way that really tells you if he can do more. That said we might just be attempting to be Burnley.

Guarantee anyone crying about us targeting mcneill has seen him him play about once.
Villa will probably beat us to him anyway so quit the moaning
If this was true they'd all want him for scoring a blammo against us so it looks like people just actually have a different opinion

My opinion probably don’t count for much on this one, but Leicester were linked with him last summer too, our fans were also very split.

I just couldn’t imagine him crossing a ball into Vardy & Iheanacho and getting decent success.

But I can imagine him crossing a ball into Calvert-Lewin and getting decent success out of it.

He’s a better player than people give him credit for, Leicester fans thought he was slow, pretty much another version of Albrighton, but if you look at McNeil, he does have pace, he is skilful and he does take players on.

He might not get you goals, but he could get you a shed load of assists.

And its also pretty much Everton with DCL up top unless you haven't been watching much of us in recent seasons.

No point bringing in a wide player who can play silky through balls to nobody running onto it like a Vardy etc.

Hes a Good Player, might not be blessed to be elite, but he’s a good player, and solid improvement on Bernard, Iwobi etc.

Burnley set up every game to not get beat. It completely eliminates attacking players, and if you can stand out in a Burnley side for being an attacking player, you have to at least be somewhat decent (ala Ings).

It's not so absolute. There are lots of ways to create. McNeil is sort of good at one of those. It's probably not worth
25m unless we develop more. But that brings us back to we hired Benitez.

25m for somewhat decent. Ok I guess.

McNeil & Dumfries for a combined £45 million outlay is good business in the current market imo.

Hope we pull both off. Would rather Bailey but he could have been another Pepe/Keita/Haller/Thiago flop.
