He's a good player who I'd be happy to have. I just don't think he will be a value signing when Burnley will ask for a very big fee of maybe up to £40m. And that's fair enough - you'd be made not to quote Everton an enormous figure because our track record in overpaying is pretty clear.

He's not worth close to £50m to another side and that's the issue. We certainly can't afford that sort of money on a young unproven player.

We have been linked but his 120k salary is way too much for us. Every time I have watched him he runs down the wing cuts back in and shoots way over the bar. Hopefully there is someone in league one or championship on an upward curve.
