The Bailey ones might have a kernel of truth in them. We’ve supposedly scouted him a fair bit over the couple of years. First time hearing of this Chukwueze chap am filing that one under jarg

We've been linked with Chukwueze a couple of times in the past. They're all much of the same: young, high price, high potential, won't be coming here.

Oh have we? I must have missed those links when they popped up. McNeil definitely seems concrete, will be interesting to see if we do move more seriously onto another if we miss out on him.

They have wanted a RW for a couple of years now. I’m sure they have a long list. Chukwueze will most likely be on it.

Strange. I think we will. Gray & Townsend wont be first choice. And we need a first choice. Wage bill going down and im
Sure we will bring funds in. Also you can do a lot of different deals, loan with a purchase next summer, or a low initial outlay

I really don't understand how we could afford McNeil.

FFP you mean ? Funny we and almost everyone in football, apart from six clubs were thoroughly disgusted with the thought of a super league. We and a lot of clubs at our level our almost totally hamstrung with FFP limits, while the"super six" can buy and spend whatever they like because of their far superior commercial and revenue deals. Let's not kid ourselves a super league of sorts has been in force for years.

It just seems like with the stadium and our last two annual reports we might be a bit less gung-ho in the market this year.

Whatever you might put down (not sure where you get your info from) it still costs a lot of money. They were £45m and £72m deals respectively.
Liverpool paid 4mil down and are paying 12 this summer. Arsenal I think paid 12 down for Pepe. A lot of deals are paid over the length of the contract.
